Description

Position Description:

Herdt Consulting is seeking a General Clerk III to join our team. The General Clerk III must have a working knowledge and understanding of Department of Defense and U.S. Navy policies and procedures. This position requires experience working with Naval Aviation Maintenance logistics operations. The General Clerk III will need to have excellent communication skills, be customer service oriented, and identify and resolve problems in a timely manner. Additionally, this person should be self-motivated and able to work as part of a team.

Primary Responsibilities include:

  • This position uses some subject-matter knowledge and judgment to complete assignments consisting of numerous steps varying in nature and sequence.
  • The General Clerk III selects from alternative methods and refers problems not solvable by adapting or interpreting substantive guides, manuals, or procedures.
  • Assisting in a variety of administrative matters; maintaining a wide variety of financial or other records (stored both manually and electronically)
  • Verifying statistical reports f for accuracy and completeness; compiling information; and handling and adjusting complaints.
  • Other non-functional duties may be assigned.
  • Have proficient basic computer skills consisting of email, Microsoft Office software, electronic timesheets, NMCI (Navy and Marine Corps Internet) usage and basic database entry. Be familiar with the use of user name and passwords and the important of computer security.
Experience/Education Requirements and Qualifications:
  • Ability to successfully complete the Herdt Consulting Background Investigation to include: 50 State Criminal, Education and Employment; ability to successfully complete a Credit and/or Driving Records Checks may be conducted if required by the contract for continued employment.
  • Applicants must be organized, flexible, detail-oriented, and capable of working in a team environment, but also capable of completing individual tasks in a timely manner.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; Specialized coursework desired.
  • At least a High School Diploma and a minimum five (5) years of previous warehouse clerk experience required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office application tools (Outlook, Word, Excel) required
  • Ability to use SAP software (knowledge of ERP is highly desirable).
  • Ability to lift and move equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Be willing to work in non-climate controlled, dusty environment.
  • Performs routine warehouse daily cleaning.
  • Forklift training, qualifications and licensing may be required.
  • Experience with logistics support in a contracting environment desired.
Pay Rate: $18.09/hr
