The Director of Logistics is responsible for creating and managing effective supply chain strategies for ensuring seamless flows of goods and services in a timely, cost-effective, and efficient manner. Responsible for the operation of a central distribution center and motor vehicle fleet for controlling all inbound and outbound freight inclusive of the health system's supplies, equipment, linen, courier services, and surplus assets. Responsible for the effective management of designated supply locations and their associated inventories at all hospitals, clinics, and outpatient facilities; and for leading a highly distributed staff spanning many locations throughout a broad geographic footprint. The Director of Logistics will have strong interpersonal, problem-solving, and organizational skills and a deep and broad knowledge of information technology including warehouse management systems (WMS).

**EDUCATION** :

+ A bachelor's degree in business administration or related field required. A master's degree in business administration is preferred.

**EXPERIENCE** :

+ Minimum of ten (10) years of deep and broad knowledge of logistics, physical distribution methods and general supply chain management, with a minimum of five (5) years' experience in a director role in a contemporary distribution center is required.

+ Prior experience with implementation and operation of a warehouse management system (WMS) is required.

+ Healthcare system experience preferred.

+ Exposure to and prior experience with lean manufacturing disciplines preferred.

+ Prior experience in designing and operationalizing a central distribution center preferred.

**LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION** :

+ Professional certification through the Institute of Supply Management (ISM), The Association for Supply Chain Management (ASCM) or Association for Healthcare Resource and Materials Management (AHRMM) is required.

**KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES** :

+ Demonstrated knowledge of best practices with contemporary supply chain distribution systems and strategies required.

+ Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously required.

+ Superior analytical and problem-solving skills required.

+ Strong interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills required.

+ Demonstrated leadership and management capabilities required.

+ Excellent track record of establishing strong customer relationships with the ability to lead multidisciplinary teams required.

+ Excellent analytical skills required.

+ Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications required.

+ Demonstrated strong work ethic required.

+ Personal transportation and willingness to travel among multiple inpatient/outpatient sites spanning the region required.

+ Ability to manage within a team environment required.
