LaSalle Network has partnered with a healthcare provider based in Fort Drum, NY, in their search for a Patient Account Representative. The Patient Account Representative is responsible for efficiently and accurately managing patient registration processes, ensuring a seamless and positive experience for patients and their families. This role involves collecting and verifying patient information, processing admissions and discharges and providing excellent customer service.
Patient Account Representative Responsibilities:
- Greet patients and visitors in a professional and courteous manner
- Accurately collect and enter patient information into the electronic health record (EHR) system
- Verify insurance coverage and obtain necessary authorizations
- Process patient admissions, transfers and discharges
- Ensure all required forms and documentation are completed and signed
- Answer and manage phone calls, providing information and assistance as needed
- Coordinate with medical staff and departments to ensure smooth patient flow
- Handle patient inquiries and resolve any issues promptly and effectively
- Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations
- Perform other administrative duties as assigned
Patient Account Representative Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree or higher in healthcare administration or related field preferred
- 1+ years of experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in patient registration or medical records
- Proficient in using EHR systems and other computer applications
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
