Job Details

Maintains locking and door hardware at all buildings on the university campus. Installs or replaces door hardware as required. Resets combination locks as required. Identifies key type and make a new key from the original, from a key code or from an impression. Installs or replaces interior signage as required. Maintains the hardware elements of a card access system. Must have a valid and unrestricted (not including corrective lens needs) U.S. Driver's license and must meet the Tulane University Motor Vehicle Policy criteria to become authorized as a driver
Ability to operate all tools and equipment unique to the locksmith trade to include power drills, boring machine, key cutting machine, lock picks, etc.
Ability to utilize computer-based software programs for the distribution and inventory control of materials.
Familiarity with the requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act as it relates to the locksmith trade.
Ability to climb ladders up to 6' in height and flights of stairs.
Ability to work on a ladder and remove or replace doors, weighing between 50 and 200 pounds, with assistance if required.
Ability to work independently and perform well with group assigned tasks.
Ability and willingness to work evenings, weekends, and possibly holidays.
Good communication and personal relations skills.
Position is in a non-smoking area. High School Diploma or Equivalent
2 years of locksmith experience 5 years of locksmith experience
