Assistant Manager Position

Summer of 2022

1. Camp runs from Sunday June 6th to Sunday August 7th. You will have 9 days off from June 29th July 7th and a couple weekends.

2. For a camp that begins at 4:00 PM, we would like you there by 2:00.

3. Breakfast is at 8:00 AM. If you want something to eat, be there.

4. You are responsible for your own bedtime. Be responsible

5. When a camp ends, you will be free to leave when all your duties are fulfilled. This includes dumping all the trash cans and making sure the dorms and other buildings are ready for the next camp.

6. The compensation is $80 per camp day plus room & board. You may have the opportunity to earn more money by being the manager for a rental weekend when our regular camps are not in session. You could earn over $3,500 for the summer.

7. You are an independent contractor and not an employee of the camp. All compensation is paid directly to you and no taxes are withheld. You will be responsible for all FICA taxes when you file your return next year.

8. You would be responsible for working under the camp manager doing maintenance duties around the camp. This includes cleaning the cottonwood out of the 3 main air movers on a weekly basis for the dorm and the chapel.

9. You will be a lifeguard for the swimming activities in the lake. The camp will pay for your lifeguard training if you do not already have a license.

10. You will be in charge of building a campfire and the fire pit every evening.

11. You will oversee the Canteen and the kitchen staff working in the Canteen.

12. You will help in the accumulation and disposal of trash to the dumpster.

13. The camp has a Grasshopper zero turn mower.

14. You will be responsible for weed eating, trimming and other landscaping items around the camp.

15. You may need to drive the pickup into Onawa to get supplies.

16. Working with the deans on the Check-in & Check-out procedures for the campers.

17. You may also be at the deans disposal if other needs arise.

18. In the event of storms, you will need to make sure items are secure and buildings closed up.

19. Besides the manager you will answer to the Cook (shes actually the boss). If she needs assistance (especially lifting or moving things) she may call on you.
