Job Description
Poultry Line Sorter is organized, maintains good attendance, is a self-starter that likes to work in a fast-paced poultry processing facility;140 BPM. The Sorter must arrive on the line to the sorter position promptly and is ready to work with all required PPE on at line start-up. The Sorter must possess good attention to detail. The ability to work with knives/scissors and handle poultry is required. Must be able to repetitively lift, push and pull up to 20 lbs. Individual will be actively involved in the Company Safety program and the long-term and short-term goals of the department. Employees must attend quarterly training provided by the company. Must demonstrate the ability to make responsible, quick decisions on bird condition as birds are passing on the line at up to 105 BPM is required. Ability to work as part of a team and maintain good communications with Line Leads, Supervisor, USDA and QA is essential.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Must have a current attendance score of two (2) points or less at time of receiving the bid.
  • Must maintain an attendance point score of six (6) points or less. Six (6) point accumulation will warrant a verbal warning that the position of Sorter will be revoked at seven (7) point accumulation. Accumulation of seven (7) points will result in removal from the Sorter job. One (1) No Call No Show (NCNS) will result in immediate removal from the Sorter position.
  • Work a full shift from a standing position.
  • Need to sort and properly determine birds' disposition.
  • Maintain a clean work environment.
  • Comply with USDA/QA regulations.
  • Be able to properly identify and mark all birds according to SVO marking system.
  • Comply with company policies, procedures, and ensure that birds maintain a standard that is set by the department supervisor.
Physical Demands
  • Stand for eight hours or more if required.
  • Repetitive shoulder, arm, and back use.
  • Ability to occasionally lift to 50 lbs.
  • Work in damp and cold environment.
  • Constant standing, walking, bending, twisting, squatting reaching and grasping as product is moved.
