Administrative Assistant


The Administrative Assistant is a full-time,non-exempt position that will assist

in the administration of parish functions andresponsibilities of Maria Immacolata.

ESSENTIAL DUTIESAND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:

(other duties may be assigned)

  • Answering calls and greeting visitors who come to the parish office.
  • Prepare Sacramental Preparation and Funeral paperwork and record appropriately.
  • Responsible for inputting all events in calendars.
  • Maintain continuous updates and maintenance of the parish database including but not limited to updating and retrieving of information.
  • Organize all sign-ups for classes, Ministers for holy days, etc.
  • Ensure continuous updates on the parish website and for the bulletin are sent to the responsible party as needed.
  • Assist in the organization and planning of Maria Immacolata's church parish events.
  • Prepare the announcements/Liturgy on a weekly basis.
  • Maintain inventory of all liturgical and office supplies and reorder as needed.
  • Work with all St. Vincent applicants and members as needed.
  • Any other duties assigned by Pastor.

QUALIFICATIONS TOPERFORM THE JOB SUCCESSFULLY:

Education and/orExperience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
Other Skills andRequirements:
  • Must be able to successfully complete Safe Environment training.
  • Knowledge of Catholic Church and its teachings and values.
  • Ability to travel in one's own vehicle to travel within the Diocese of Houma-Thibodaux required.
  • Ability to understand, follow, and transmit written and oral instructions.
  • Must be able to communicate clearly by phone, in written form including email, and verbally.
  • Must be able to speak English.
  • Must possess strong computer skills including knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software
  • Must be able to sit at a desk and work on a computer for prolonged periods of time.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
