Responsibilities

  • Receive and inspect incoming shipments to ensure they meet quality standards, match purchase orders, and verify quantities, product specifications, proper labeling, and documentation.
  • Collaborate with procurement, warehouse teams, and vendors to resolve discrepancies or issues with received goods and coordinate delivery schedules.
  • Document and update inventory records accurately using computerized systems or software.
  • Organize and manage the storage of received goods, ensuring items are stored in the appropriate locations.
  • Assist in unloading and unpacking shipments, using material handling equipment when necessary, and collaborate with warehouse personnel to ensure efficient movement of goods within the facility.
  • Maintain a clean and organized receiving area, adhering to safety and cleanliness standards.
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy in receiving operations.
  • Prepare and pack goods for shipment, ensuring they are properly labeled and documented, and determine the most efficient shipping method based on cost, urgency, and customer requirements.
  • Schedule and coordinate shipments with carriers, freight forwarders, and courier services.
  • Maintain accurate records of all incoming and outgoing shipments, including tracking numbers, shipping documents, and delivery times.
  • Monitor and manage inventory levels to ensure sufficient stock for customer orders, conduct regular stock checks and cycle counts, and report any discrepancies.
  • Ensure that all products meet quality standards before shipment and handle damaged or defective goods appropriately, initiating returns or replacements as necessary.
  • Prepare shipping documents, such as bills of lading, packing lists, and customs declarations, ensuring compliance with international shipping regulations and customs requirements.
  • Communicate shipping and delivery updates to relevant departments and customers, addressing customer inquiries and resolving shipping-related issues promptly.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries, and comply with all relevant laws, regulations, and company policies related to shipping and transportation.

Education and Certifications
  • High School graduate or GED required
  • 1 year of Proven experience in shipping, receiving, or logistics operations.
  • Knowledge of shipping software and systems.
  • Familiarity with transportation regulations and customs procedures.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Qualification
  • Ability to lift at least 56 lbs. periodically
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to use both arms and hands
  • Ability to bend and stoop frequently
  • Frequently exposed to light manufacturing conditions and extreme temperature

Work experience in related industry is an asset but even if you do not have this, we still want you to apply. On the job training will be provided.
