Packer

A Packer plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and accurate packaging of products for shipment or distribution. Packers are responsible for carefully preparing items for delivery, maintaining an organized work area, and adhering to safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Packing and Assembling:

    - Receive orders, picking items from storage locations based on packing lists or customer orders.

    - Inspect items for quality, quantity, and damage before packing.

    - Assemble and pack products into appropriate packaging materials, such as boxes, bags, or containers.
  • Labeling and Marking:

    - Affix labels, barcodes, or shipping instructions to each package for accurate identification and tracking.

    - Ensure that all packages are marked with the correct destination, shipping information, and any special handling instructions.
  • Quality Control:

    - Perform visual inspections to verify the correctness and condition of items being packed.

    - Report any discrepancies or damaged items to supervisors or quality control teams.
  • Inventory Management:

    - Maintain accurate records of packed items and update inventory systems as necessary.

    - Notify the supervisor of low stock levels or the need for replenishment.
  • Safety and Organization:

    - Adhere to safety guidelines and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).

    - Keep work areas clean, organized, and free of hazards.

    - Follow proper material handling procedures to prevent injuries and accidents.
  • Efficiency and Speed:

    - Work efficiently to meet productivity targets while maintaining accuracy.

    - Collaborate with team members to streamline packing processes.
  • Team Communication:

    - Communicate any issues or challenges related to packing or inventory to supervisors and team members.

    - Work cooperatively with colleagues to achieve common goals.


Qualifications and Skills

  • Physical stamina to stand, walk, and lift heavy items during the shift.
  • Attention to detail and a strong focus on quality.
  • Basic computer skills for inventory tracking.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of safety procedures and the ability to follow them.


Benefits/Compensation

  • Full Time
  • Pay Rate is $14.00 per hour
  • 2nd Shift
  • Weekly pay while employed through Career Concepts
  • Benefits available while employed through Career Concepts
  • Temp-To-Hire
  • Benefits after Probation period
