*Job Description: *
As the *Assistant Director of Nursing*, you will work under the direction of the Director of Nursing (DON) and in conjunction with management to support the DON in planning, coordinating, and directing operations for the skilled nursing and short stay departments. You will use independent judgment to ensure the facility s day-to-day operations are in accordance with the goals and objectives of the health system and the regulatory and legal aspects that should be followed. Your other duties will include but are not limited to:
* Uphold the health system s mission, vision, values, and culture.
* Lead and manage for high reliability outcomes.
* Build strategic relationships across the organization, promoting collaboration and teamwork.
* Contribute to developing vision and strategy for the nursing department.
* Demonstrate fiscal responsibility in resource planning and management for the nursing department.
* Assume responsibility for the nursing department in the DON's absence.
* Ensure quality metrics are met through system development and evaluation.
* Act as facility coordinator, liaising with regulatory agencies and keeping the DON informed.
* Review event reports, identify problematic trends, and develop recommendations for improvement.
* Collaborate in developing the management team and stay updated on healthcare trends.
* Participate in setting and monitoring annual goals and objectives.
* Manage on-call responsibilities and support organizational priorities.
* Work with the talent team in hiring candidates for open positions.
* Resolve conflicts in a timely manner and ensure ADP completion for nursing staff.
* Perform other assigned duties.
*Required Qualifications:*
* 3-5 years of administrative and management experience in a long-term care facility.
* RN, BSN
* Ability to develop and coordinate new programs and services.
* Ability to analyze and problem-solve in a changing healthcare environment.
* Excellent interpersonal skills.
* Knowledge of regulatory and legal requirements.
