RESPONSIBILITIES: The candidate will be responsible for supporting the CIO and investment team in the acquisition and analysis of company, industry, financial market, and economic intelligence. The Analyst's efforts will primarily support ACR's flagship EQR equity strategy as well as the broader needs of the CIO office. This role is in office with relocation to St. Louis required.

  • Quickly acquire competency in the firm's investment principles and process.
  • Roll up sleeves and independently gather hard-to-find data on industries, companies, and markets.
  • Maintain research reports, financial models, and valuations using Cap IQ, 10Ks, Bloomberg, and other sources.
  • Support maintenance of current portfolio holdings as well as research on new investment opportunities.
  • Produce write-ups on industry competitors including key financial metrics for companies being analyzed.
  • Support maintenance of our portfolio history, financial market, and economic databank.
  • Support the production of investment presentations, quarterly letters, and other firm collateral.
  • Learn the responsibilities of team analysts to provide backup or secondary support for their responsibilities.
  • Develop and cultivate relationships and conduct interviews with industry participants, suppliers, and others to better understand industry and company dynamics, management effectiveness, and product competitiveness.
  • Support the research and composition of white papers and other research collateral.

QUALIFICATIONS: The successful candidate will be an extremely well read, highly curious, independent thinking, rational, and self-starting investment professional.

  • Highest level of integrity and ethical standards.
  • A passion for value investing and a desire to read key value investment books and write-ups.
  • Strong working knowledge of business, finance, accounting, and economics.
  • Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Extremely detail oriented.
  • Expertise in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and financial modeling required, with Python and AI a major plus.
  • Excellent communication and writing skills.
  • Open to recent graduates as well as individuals with a few years of relevant industry experience.
  • Preferred backgrounds include accounting, finance, and economics.
  • MBA and CFA designation preferred, or progress toward CFA designation required.
