Responsibilities:
- Determine cost of operations by establishing standard costs, collecting operational data
- Guide cost analysis process by establishing and enforcing policies and procedures; providing trends and forecasts; explain processes and techniques; recommending actions
- Recommend actions by analyzing and interpreting data and making comparative analyses; studying proposed changes in methods and materials
- Confirm costs by collecting, interpreting, and reporting data
- Prepare special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends
- Achieve budget objectives by scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions
- Comply with federal, state and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation' anticipating future legislation; enforce adherence to requirements; filing financial reports; advising management on needed actions
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; review professional publications; establish personal networks; participate in professional societies
- Protect operations by keeping financial information and plans confidential
- Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelors Degree in Finance or related field
Experience:
- Minimum five (5) years of accounting experience, preferably in a plant/manufacturing environment
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of federal, state and local legal requirements
- Knowledge of an ERP system such as SAP is preferred
- Ability to analyze manufacturing statements by researching large or unusual variances to determine cause
- Ability to prepare budgets and oversee purchasing, preferably in a plant/industrial manufacturing setting
- Ability to file monthly tax reports correctly and on time
- Ability to solve problems for purchasing, payroll and accounts payable
- Ability to prepare charts for financially efficient plant operations
- Ability to maintain petty cash
- Ability to handle confidential information in a professional manner
- Ability to communicate effectively across various levels of the organization
- Ability to handle multiple responsibilities under limited supervision
- Ability and desire to work in a hands-on, industrial manufacturing and office environment
- Ability to travel approximately 5% of the time
