**Description**
**Job Summary:** The Packager is responsible for inspecting and packaging product prior to shipping. Package counts and the correct package ticket information are essential in insuring that all packages meet our customer specifications.
**Job Duties:**
- Follow all safety procedures, rules, and guidelines; and notifies the supervisor of any existing or potential safety issues.
- Receive direction from the supervisor and notify the supervisor when more work is needed for both packager and assistant.
- Ensure all packages leaving the packaging area meet the quality standards.
- Maintain the work area, machinery and tools in a neat, clean and orderly fashion.
- Follow all standard operating procedures and notify the supervisor of potential procedural improvements.
- Assist in other work areas when the workload permits or requires.
- Cooperate with and support co-workers and get involved as a team player.
- Meet or exceed the production standards for the position.
- Complete all documentation related to this position; i.e., production reports, accurate time keeping, etc.
- Observe closely the operation of tools and machinery and notify the supervisor immediately of malfunctions or maintenance that may be needed.
- Review the WCI web page under the customer packaging specifications. Monitor packages for proper counts, packaging tickets, pallet height, pallet size, color of plastic wrap and protective corners.
- Review status of orders at the beginning of the shift to determine what is in process.
- Remove route sheet from order and prepare packaging ticket.
- Place cardboard corners and covers on order and write order identification on cover.
