Job Summary

As a receiving clerk, you have a passion for great service and ensure the accurate and timely receipt of the daily inventory to meet the fulfillment of customer orders, for our Barnes & Noble stores and .com customers. You take pride in assuring the product is received accurately and available to complete the order fulfillment process, taking care to minimize any quality issues. A receiving clerk consistently meets or exceeds the daily production goals and is comfortable performing these duties in a warehouse environment and in accordance with our Core Values.

An employee in this position can expect an hourly rate starting at $16.50 plus $1.00 differential pay to $17.50.

What You Do

Assure product is received accurately and in a timely manner into the DC database system.
Inspects and communicates inventory for any possible damaged items.
Adhere to all safety protocols and foster a safe work environment.
Work on the warehouse floor which includes repeated lifting, bending, and reaching up to 50 lbs. and ability to stand for long periods of time in any area as needed.
Work with a sense of urgency and care, assuring individual and department daily production goals are met or exceeded.
Assist new hires and department transfers in a friendly and approachable manner with any questions they may have.
Communicate in a positive manner with all booksellers and members of management with any questions or concerns.
Comply with all company policies and procedures.
Flexible with schedule required during peak season as business needs arise.

Knowledge & Experience

Can multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Mid-level Technical skills - RF, WMS, knighted, Monster, internet explorer, Excel
Demonstrated ability to work in a safe manner at all times.
Possess basic written and verbal communication skills as well as mathematical skills.
Is detailed and accurate.
Basic English skills preferred.
Prior warehouse experience is preferred.
