  • Bachelor's Degree Nursing degree required from an accredited professional nursing education program
  • a combination of an Associate degree in Nursing from an accredited professional nursing education program with a minimum of three years of experience as a registered nurse will be considered in lieu of degree requirements
  • Valid Registered Nurse License from the Texas State Board of Nursing
  • Certified in First Aid, CPR & AED Usage
  • Experience in direct patient care within the last five years
  • Minimum of 2 years experience as a registered nurse preferred
  • Possess a strong working knowledge of the RN scope of practice as defined by the Texas Board of Nursing
  • Ability to demonstrate physical assessment and intervention skills
  • Must be proficient in using equipment and technology for the delivery of healthcare services
  • Ability to demonstrate organizational, management, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff both verbally and in writing

The position requires occasional walking, standing, sitting, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and lifting/carrying work related items weighing less than 40 pounds, such as books, papers and presentation materials. The employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus. Attendance at conferences and professional development is required. Work involves everyday risks and discomforts which require normal safety precautions when operating equipment or performing job duties. May work prolonged or irregular hours and must be able to maintain emotional control under stress.

  • This position may require lifting/repositioning student, toileting, diapering, exposure to medications, student accidents and illness, bodily fluids, and cleansers.
