Our client in Rochester, NY is looking for a Level IV Field Technician to join their team.

This is an onsite/full-time/contract position

Hourly based on experience: $29-$34/hr

Summary: Responsible for installing, servicing, and integrating healthcare communication systems. The Field Technician is responsible for utilizing company policy, procedure, and processes to meet customer requirements. Troubleshoots and communicates solutions promptly to meet objectives. Required to meet all administrative requirements including but not limited to recording job details and hours. Responsible for assisting in the improvement of our quality, efficiency, cost reduction, and safety initiatives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Field Service Technician to perform installation, integration, maintenance, and repairs to company-supported Products, a wide variety of telecommunications systems, equipment, cabling, and software. The Field Technician will also perform other related work as required. This position requires 45% out-of-town and overnight travel and is based on project location.

  • Pre-installation preparation
  • Prepare and ensure all materials/equipment are delivered to the client as requested by the Project Manager.
  • Have tools and vehicles in good working condition.
  • Have an understanding of estimated hours and schedule to perform tasks.
  • Review of customer contacts, rules, and regulations on-site.
  • Perform all necessary system configuration required.
  • Assist in organizing lower level Technicians with pre-installation preparation.
  • Installation
  • Run cable
  • Headend/Server
  • Terminate cable
  • Install devices
  • Test System and Devices
  • Understand the function of ALL system components as related to the system build
  • Assist in training opportunities for lower-level Technicians
  • Post-installation
  • Customer training
  • Customer sign-off
  • Account for and document the return of any remaining job equipment to the office
  • Assist in Bill of Materials Reconciliation
  • Attend Job Review when necessary
  • Service Calls
  • Perform tests and inspections on existing clients
  • Take assignments as the on-call service technician
  • Perform technical service work
  • Log service calls and complete the service call form.
  • Communicate and document as required by the service manager.
  • Meet administrative requirements
  • Record daily hours and tasks
  • Provide all internal documentation after the job as requested by the Project Manager

Computer Skills:

  • Perform basic software troubleshooting and diagnostics,
  • Install hardware and software including operating system and office applications.
  • Responsible for providing computer hardware/software/network tech support to end-users.
  • Assists with setup and configuration of system hardware and software.
  • Proficient in Microsoft, and the components of the MS Office Suite.
  • Network Troubleshooting and understanding of TCP/IP

Education/Experience:

Associate degree (A.A. / A.S.) from two-year college or trade school; or two to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
