**Description**

Provides friendly, fast, accurate and safe customer service. Provides assistance to customers on the sales floor and promptly assists in checkout at the register. Monitors the entrance and greets all customers. Accurately operates cash register and credit/debit transactions in accordance with Goodwill policies and procedures. Must become familiar with all departments/categories to assist with customer questions and requests. Stocks and rotates merchandise on the sales floor. Assists with organization and merchandising of merchandise on the sales floor.

**QUALIFICATIONS:**

**Education and/or Experience:** High school diploma/GED or equivalent combination of education and experience. Prior retail sales and/or cashiering experience preferred.

**Screenings:** A background screening will be completed as a condition of employment.

**Safety and Security:** Observes safety and security procedures including the appropriate use of PPE; reports potentially unsafe conditions; uses equipment and materials properly.

**Customer Service:** Responds promptly to customer needs; solicits customer feedback to improve service; responds to requests for service and assistance.

**Computer Skills:** Basic computer use knowledge. Able to operate a computer based cash register and credit card machine.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is:

* Must be able to withstand prolonged standing, bending, lifting and stretching up to 8 hours per day.

* Must be able to perform repetitive hand and wrist motions for more than 75% of the shift.

* Must be able to handle, feel and occasionally smell objects to determine quality and condition.

* Must be able to talk and hear well enough to successfully communicate with customers and co-workers.

* Must have vision corrected to within normal limits and be able to correctly identify colors.

* May occasionally be required to sit, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

* Must be able to lift and/or move objects up to 25 pounds regularly, 50 pounds frequently and team lift 100 lbs. occasionally. Must be able to lift textiles on hangers up to 5 pounds at or above head level for frequently.

* May need to work in wet/humid and hot environments.

* Occasionally will be exposed to aggressive customers.

* Frequent exposure to cleaning chemicals.

* Frequent exposure to unfit donated goods and materials.

* Ability to work in an environment with a moderate noise level.

* Must be able to work a varied schedule on short notice, including days, nights and weekend and holidays.

* Must be able to function in a hectic work environment.
