TEAM, Inc., a non-profit social service agency serving in 12 communities including the Valley (Ansonia, Derby, Oxford, Seymour & Shelton), Milford, Waterbury and Naugatuck has the following part-time opportunity in its quality Early Education program located in Waterbury:

HEALTH COORDINATOR - P/T

Seeking an experienced professional to oversee the administration of the health, nutrition and safety components of an Early Head Start/Child Care partnership grant to ensure that Head Start, Early Head Start, School Readiness and state licensing standards are met. Primary responsibilities include: 1) ensuring that all state and federal compliance regulations are implemented, 2) tracking of family childcare provider, staff, volunteer and consultant physicals as well as required trainings such as first aid, CPR, OSHA, etc., 3) providing orientation and trainings for all family childcare providers, volunteers and substitutes, 4) ensuring completion of required 45 day hearing/vision screenings and growth assessments, 5) facilitating the creation of and ensuring children with medical, nutritional or other needs have up-to-date Individual Health Plans, 6) providing ongoing support and training to family childcare providers, 7) ensuring children are up-to-date with all CT EPSDT standards, 8) assisting with the coordination of diaper distributions within the family childcare homes, 9) ensuring compliance with staff health trainings, 10) communicating effectively with families regarding the health and nutritional needs of their children, 11) assisting with the development of component plans, and 12) participating in and assisting with the coordination of Health Service Advisory committee meetings.

Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Public Health or related field and 3+ years relevant experience. Successful candidate must possess the following: 1) strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills, 2) knowledge of state licensing standards, 3) knowledge of Head Start performance standards, 4) solid computer skills, and 5) reliable transportation to access provider's homes. Bilingual a plus.
