Description
Primary Function:

  • The Materials Clerk is responsible for promoting the provision of quality patient care by monitoring and maintaining inventory/stock levels in all patient care areas throughout the Hospital. Additionally, this position ensures that all medical supplies and equipment are efficiently received, stocked, and ultimately delivered to designated patient care areas throughout the Hospital.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assists Materials Manager by distributing Hospital equipment/medical supplies to patient care areas, and assists with maintaining sufficient supply inventories in all patient care areas.
  • Stocks supplies upon delivery utilizing proper storage techniques and restocks/replenishes materials in all patient care areas.
  • Assists in the daily re-order process of supplies throughout patient care areas.
  • Receives all purchase order data and inputs in the automated materials management system daily.
  • Performs periodic cycle counts to validate accuracy of the inventory system as determined by leadership.
  • Ensures that storage area is maintained in an orderly manner.
  • Puts away lenses in the lens room daily.
  • Oversees inventory par levels to ensure that an adequate supply of materials are readily available in all patient care areas.
  • Performs additional related duties as assigned.

  • Demonstrates initiative in continuously improving personal knowledge, skills, and work experience, and in improving departmental functioning.

    • High School Diploma or Equivalent
    Licensure:
    • Active Pennsylvania State Driver's License
    Experience:
    • Previous experience in healthcare preferred
