Job DescriptionSTAFF ACCOUNTANT - (Non-Profit)Philadelphia, PA(Full Time, Permanent Opportunity) Dynamic and inclusive non-profit organization dedicated to promoting health and wellness is seeking an onsite dynamic Staff Accountant.As a Staff Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the financial integrity and efficiency of our organization. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:Key Responsibilities:* Performing general cost accounting and related duties.* Preparation of monthly balance sheets and profit and loss statements.* Assisting in maintaining the general ledger.* Collaborating with the Director of Finance to prepare departmental budgets in accordance with funding source guidelines, ensuring consideration for diverse perspectives.* Providing information and guidance to departments on budgets and forecasts with sensitivity to diverse needs.* Making recommendations to enhance the company's fiscal efficiency through an inclusive lens.* Offering basic financial oversight for funds related to grant projects, with a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.* Monitoring and tracking the status of each program through its life cycle with an awareness of diverse community dynamics.* Ensuring compliance with grant guidelines and accurately allocating payroll and administrative costs with equity in mind.* Maintaining an Asset/Depreciation Schedule with an understanding of the diverse assets within our organization.* Verifying and completing payment of invoices associated with accounts payable, promoting diverse vendor relationships.* Assisting external auditors during annual and A-133 audits, ensuring diverse perspectives are considered in the audit process.* Managing the purchasing and invoicing system with an emphasis on equitable practices.* Maintaining a solid understanding of GAAP and GAAS with an awareness of their impact on diverse financial structures.* Performing other related duties as assigned, embracing diversity and adaptability in a rapidly changing business model.This is a sedentary position that requires long periods of being in a seated position and working on a computer.The position may require lifting up to 20 lbs.Be part of a diverse and inclusive team dedicated to making a meaningful impact on the well-being of our community.If you are a skilled and experienced accountant with a passion for contributing to the success of a non-profit organization, we invite you to apply now!Experience and SkillsEducation:* Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance required.* Proven experience in grant accounting within the nonprofit sector.* Strong understanding of grant compliance regulations and reporting standards.* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.* Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.* Effective communication and interpersonal skills.Experience:* Minimum of 5 years' experience working in the nonprofit sector.* Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks)and Microsoft Office Suite.* Proficiency in accounting principles.* Proven experience in grant accounting within the nonprofit sector preferred* Strong understanding of grant compliance regulations and reporting standards.* Ability to work autonomously.* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with an understanding and appreciation of diverse communication styles and cultural nuances.* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.Job BenefitsSalary and Full Benefits
