**Location:** Woodbridge ****Role Summary****
* Operation of a forklift/tugger or other lifting devices in a manufacturing environment to ensure materials are received and distributed to all areas of the plant as required in a safe and timely manner.
****Key Qualifications/Requirements****
* Grade 12 Education or equivalent experience
* Working knowledge of English (both written & oral)
* Valid Ontario Drivers license
* Valid Lift Truck license/certificate
* Previous experience operating a forklift and other lifting devices i.e. tugger or crane slinger in a manufacturing environment is an asset.
* Must be able to work with minimum supervision and be reliable.
* Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
* Must have good organizational skills, be a self-starter, team player and an active listener
* Must be flexible in respect to hours work including weekends
****Key Responsibilities****
* Keep operators supplied with material at all times
* Responsible to respond to calls from the Andon system in a timely manner.
* General packaging, decanting, palletizing and inventory, complete all paperwork as required including pre-shift forklift/tugger inspection forms.
* Responsible to follow standardized work for the coordinated movement of all items required, to ensure the most efficient flow of production as well as ensuring load / containers etc. are balanced and secure before moving:
+ Movement of all containers to and from machines
+ All scrap removal from machines
+ All cardboard movement to and from machines
+ Emptying garbage bins
+ Battery Charging / Exchanges
+ Participate in development of updating and maintaining long cycle standardized work.
+ Support material conveyance through decanting, general packaging, palletizing, etc.
**Key Responsibilities 2**
* Ensure basket with parts has properly identified process tag before removing basket. An empty basket must not have any tag. Load and unload trucks upon request
* Ensure proper utilization of FIFO system for inventory control.
* Ensure all parts or oil spills are cleaned immediately
* Actively and positively support the continued practice of Common Values behaviours
* Initiate and embrace company change
* Adhere to standards and rules described in the MSM employee handbook
* Observe standards for safe working conditions as outlined in the Occupational Health & Safety Act as well as rules and regulations outlined in the employee handbook
* Perform other assignments from time to time as Department Manager and/or his designees so direct
* Responsible for participating in monthly Health & Safety Quiz
* Comply and participate with Suggestions and Continuous Improvement programs at MSM.
