GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The purpose of this position is to provide custodial services in maintaining County buildings in a clean, orderly, and safe manner. Perform cleaning duties and inform management of repair needs.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
- Collect and dispose of trash and debris.
- Collect, sort, and dispose of recyclables.
- Provide general custodial maintenance of assigned county buildings and facilities.
- Perform various custodial duties in restrooms such as cleaning sinks, toilets, and urinals.
- Restock all paper products in restrooms.
- Vacuum and clean carpet floors.
- Sweep, mop, strip, wax, and buff tile floors.
- Clean interior and exterior windows.
- Move furniture and equipment as directed.
- Dispose of furniture and equipment as directed.
- Notify management of needed repairs.
- Notify management of needed supplies.
- Supervise inmates from detention center and/or individuals performing community service by assisting with custodial duties.
- Maintain County owned vehicle. Notify management of any concerns with vehicle.

Requirements:
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing;
Knowledge of cleaning materials and methods for proper use of chemicals and materials;
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision;
Ability to prioritize tasks;
Knowledge of general custodial and lawn maintenance procedures;
Physical abilities to perform duties;
Knowledge of County guidelines and procedures;
Ability to operate cleaning tools, accessories and equipment;
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
The educational requirement for this position is: Completion of high school/GED.
Education may be substituted for experience.
Related-experience required: 6 months.
Experience may be substituted for education.

Certifications, licenses, professional designations, or other qualifications required for this position include:
- Valid SC Driver's License
