Bio-Med Technician (BMET II or III)


Job Details

As the Bio-Med Technician, you will be responsible for maintenance, repair and related work on all medical equipment and electrical instrumentation within the hospital system. Works under minimal supervision and assures that all medical equipment in assigned areas is operating safely and accurately. Cooperates with medical staff to address all medical equipment issues, related to duties mentioned above, and reports to the Director of Biomed.

EDUCATION AND RELATED EXPERIENCE:

Required:

  • Minimum of 7-10 years of Biomedical/Clinical Engineering experience related to support and service of medical, imaging, and lab devices within a hospital setting.
  • Responsible technical position establishing an extensive knowledge of medical equipment in terms of its uses and maintenance requirements.
  • Knowledge of electronic terms, diagrams, and being able to read blueprints. You should know the location of all departments and equipment in each department.
  • Must be thoroughly familiar with the latest codes, standards, regulations and requirements either recommended or required for the safe use of electro-mechanical devices in patient care facilities.

Preferred:
  • Minimum Associate Degree in Electronics/Engineering, in Biomed Services/Science, or equivalent education, may consider substitute years of applicable work experience for education.
  • Professional affiliations, memberships, licenses and/or accreditation are necessary
  • Associated with related professional organizations.
