Salary range of $70,000 - $79,000 annually, dependent upon experience
Event Chef
As the Event Chef, you will work with the Executive Chef and the Amaterra Team to lead a talented and versatile staff, providing outstanding and memorable Member & Guest experiences. In this position you will lead and guide a passionate group of culinarians, execute our core event menu along with our seasonal menus, assist in creating personalized client menus/experiences, help create monthly Wine Club Event Dinners, Receptions and Experiences, assist in achieving weekly/monthly/yearly financial goals.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 3 plus years leading an Event or Catering team as a Sous Chef, Chef de Cuisine, Executive Sous Chef or Event Chef.
- Experience leading a team of 5-8 cooks and dishwashers.
- Experience working in a dynamic food and beverage operation with numerous leaders.
- Experience with menu creation and execution in a 200 + person event space.
- Experience in presenting tasting menus to prospective clients, members and guests.
- Effective communication skills within a multi-tiered leadership team.
- High quality mathematical skills to accurately determine food ordering and preparation amounts.
- High level organizational skills to organize ingredients for multiple events daily and to determine firing times for highest quality dishes.
- High understanding of how to impact and achieve food cost goals, while keeping food waste at a minimum.
- Formal culinary training and education from a reputable culinary school a plus.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
