**Merchandise Assistant (Full Time)**

Newton, MA The Merchandise Assistant will be based out of our Newton, MA office providing administrative support to the retail and merchandising team. This role will be reporting to the Buyer and is responsible for assisting with the day-to-day purchasing activities, data management of vendors, products, trends, opportunities as well as helping ensure that all distribution channels maintain a healthy level of inventory.

RESPONSIBILITIES

* Enters purchase orders into appropriate systems in an accurate and timely manner as well as assisting with purchase order management including, but not limited to modifying orders, maintaining order logs, and facilitating communication

* Spearhead communication associated with sharing of product knowledge

* Creates and maintains SKU and vendor information

* Assist with managing all product samples

* Hold vendors accountable for shipment timing and partnering with AP on timing payment as well as ensuring vendors are compliant with licensing obligations, delivery procedures, and payment handling.

* Perform other duties or projects assigned by the Buyer

* Completes all purchase order modifications including but not limited to delivery extensions, cancellations, and cost & retail changes

* Works with internal departments to resolve issues

* Communicates with vendors via phone and email regarding PO modifications/changes, PO shipment statuses as well as coordinating meetings and any other inquiries

* Communicates with receiving to ensure vendors ship correctly.

* Creates and runs reports for buyers as needed (i.e. On Order, Sales, etc.)

* Organizes and maintains merchandise samples and sample space

* Assists in preparing for Accessories Style Out and Strategy meetings by gathering samples, preparing selling recaps, etc.

* Assists Buyer with special projects as needed (i.e. recap projects, trend recaps, trend boards, etc.)

* Performs general tasks such as printing, filing, expense reports, etc.

* Maintains positive relationships across different areas of business

REQUIREMENTS

* High School Diploma or equivalent

* Self-directed individual who can work independently yet collaborate as needed within Merchandise Operations as well as cross functionally.

* Strong verbal and written communication skills with the flexibility to assess and tailor communication style to different personalities/needs.

* Strong problem solving skills and effective prioritization.

* Demonstrates flexibility, adaptability and integrity.

* High attention to detail, strong organizational and follow through skills.

* Strong ability to multi-task in a high volume and fast paced environment while meeting deadlines and maintaining a positive and professional demeanor.

* Ability to build relationships, be personable, maintain a positive attitude and collaborate with others.

* Ability to learn and adapt to new computer systems.

* Experience with Microsoft to include Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

* Cannabis experience strongly preferred

* Proficient Excel knowledge preferred

* Ability to work in a fast-paced, heavily regulated environment

* Exceptional teamwork and time-management skills

* Possess active listening skills and ability to take direction

* Must be able to use appropriate equipment safely including but not limited to computers as consistent with this position.

* Must be at least 21 years of age and able to obtain and maintain a current Marijuana Establishment Agent Registration Card

* Willingness to learn state rules and regulations to keep the establishment compliant

* Must comply with all legal or company regulations for working in the industry

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

? Long periods of prolonged standing, sitting and use of hands

? Long periods of prolonged use of office equipment, including computers and phones

? Ability to observe and assess material that deviates from established company standards

? Some crouching, stooping, balancing, or holding uncomfortable positions for extended periods of time; repetitive motions

? Requires bending and lifting 25+ pounds for distances of up to 100 feet

? Ability to work in store and office with fluorescent and other lighting exposure
