Description

The Logistics Director directs all aspects of the organization's logistics management function to control, deliver, and distribute products to the customer. Leads the execution of an overall strategy, metrics, and processes to deploy an optimized logistic network and operations.

  • Oversee critical and related inventory, distribution, and transportation functions that support company goals and customer satisfaction.
  • Establish governance and quality auditing processes to monitor vendor performance and drive continuous improvement.
  • Utilizes analytics to monitor and measure performance, identify problems in operations, and achieve high performance at optimal cost.
  • Create, implement, and effectively manage/update dispatching program.
  • Daily/Weekly reconciliation of cases.
  • Schedules pick-up and delivery of products by developing and issuing schedules of shipments and notifying all personnel involved.
  • Prepare forecasts for product deliveries. Handle all routine scheduling, documentation, and management reporting concerning deliveries.
  • Manages the supply of logistics-related data to support customers in the day-to-day general areas of supply, configuration management, technical requirements identification, installation and maintenance of equipment, safety and documentation development and maintenance. Investigates potential risk and other matters of significance and provides and implements solutions.
  • Controls pickup and delivery of product by tracking and analyzing daily schedule compliance, adjusting schedules, and keeping affected personnel informed on a timely basis.
  • Accomplishes pickup and delivery goals by well-planned scheduling and reacting quickly to provide solutions when issues arise.
  • Schedules routine and emergency maintenance on all trucks and equipment, limiting down time for equipment and drivers.
  • Understands all DOT and other regulations and company policies pertaining to post trip/pre trip inspections and all other regulatory issues pertaining to transportation of product.
  • May be required to visit customer sites as company representative and be involved in the product inventory management team.
  • Required to issue loading & unloading numbers.
  • Other duties as assigned and trained.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent experience.
  • 7+ years of experience in logistics / operations / transportation / dispatch / delivery.
  • 5+ years managerial experience required.
  • Experience in dairy manufacturing or food/beverage processing preferred
  • Knowledgeable of DOT and other transportation related regulations.
  • Knowledge of types of trucks and ancillary equipment used for transportation.
  • Ability to work for a company that runs 24/7/365.
  • Proficient with MS Office, Word, Excel, and the ability to adapt to additional software programs.
