Pharmacist (Evenings)


Job Details

The Department of Pharmacy at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking a full-time Pharmacist (Evenings). The successful candidate will:

* Dispense, compound, admix drugs and other pharmaceuticals.

* Provide medication counseling and reconciliation.

* Review medication orders for safety and efficacy and then approves orders within our CPOE system to main medication profiles.

* Review and approve Pyxis profile orders.

* Administer oncology, TPN, and investigational drug solutions as needed.

* Dispense controlled substances as needed and maintain files.

* Participate in drug utilization review studies, QA, and PI programs.

* Actively participate in new technologies and operational programs.

* Maintain the records of Pharmacy.

* Supervise technicians and support staff.

* Report to Senior Pharmacists, the Director, and Associate Director of Pharmacy.

* Provide in-service education to healthcare professionals on demand.

* Rotate with medical teams and/or participate in specific medication management programs.

* Be available for holiday coverage rotation and on-call/recall rotation as required.

Required Qualifications:

* New York State Pharmacist Licensure.

* Pharm D. from an Accredited College of Pharmacy

Preferred Qualifications:

* Prior hospital Pharmacist experience.

* Completion of a PG-Y I Residency.

Work Schedule:

Variable Days; 3:30pm-12:00am (Full-Time Evenings)

SL3

Salary Range:

Commensurate with experience and qualifications
