Our Opening and Your Responsibilities Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Includes the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Procures Direct and Indirect Materials

1. Analyzes demand for production materials and outside-processing services using MRP, shipment history, inventory analysis, and then procures the materials.

2. Analyzes requirements of new items, including specifications, preferred supplier, delivery dates and then procures the materials.

3. Determines purchase quantity and delivery schedule.

4. Finds and qualifies potential suppliers. Solicits and evaluates bids. Coordinates the resolution of technical questions regarding specifications.

5. Negotiates the lowest possible cost considering quality, delivery schedule and storage constraints.

6. ECO analysis to include coordination and implementation. Also includes cost analysis, risk analysis, product structuring, inventory management and ECR creation.

7. Processes purchase orders, negotiates and creates contracts.

8. Assures that items are delivered on schedule, at the negotiated price, and conform to specifications.

9. Assures that items are received properly, coordinates the resolution of receiving or invoicing issues as they arise. 10. Coordinates the return of non-conforming material to suppliers.

11. Manages Purchase Order records for accuracy and up-to-date delivery information.

12. Provides status reports to management on open orders, cost savings, RTVs, projects and accomplishments.

13. Analyzes and updates standard costs, lead times, order quantities, safety stocks, and sources for responsible commodities.

14. Work within documented procurement / planning system that complies with SBA and ISO guidelines.

15. Responsible for various direct and indirect materials, and services.

Is committed to the tenets of the Business Philosophy and the Companys quality programs. 1. Education and/or Experience: BA or BS in Business or equivalent with four to six years purchasing / planning experience in a manufacturing environment. APICS certification or equivalent is desirable. Experience and an understanding of bills of materials and engineering item master attributes. Understanding and ability to apply the principles of Lean Manufacturing and JIT systems. Skilled in negotiating with Suppliers. Ability to perform duties with limited work direction and to work well in a team environment.

2. Language Skills: Oral and written communication skills to prepare clear, concise, and competent specifications and invitations for formal and informal bids and related materials. Ability to read and interpret documents such as specifications, drawings, and purchasing documents. Ability to write routine reports, correspondence and ISO procedures. Ability to speak effectively to Suppliers and team members.

4. Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

5. Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of SAP ERP (or similar ERP system), MS Excel and MS Word.
