Job Summary

Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, provides close, one-to-one observation of a patient to provide a safe environment. Promotes a calm, therapeutic, safe environment using professional communication skills and utilizes principles of caring in a respectful manner.

Minimum Qualifications

Education

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Licensure/

Certification

Current CPR certification and CPI (Crisis Prevention and Intervention) course required within 6 months of hire.

Experience

Six months experience in health care or security preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide a safe, age-specific and therapeutic patient environment.
Ability to don and wear personal protective equipment as part of infection control guidelines.
Good hygiene practiced and neat in personal appearance.
Ability to communicate effectively in English.
Basic proficiency with MS Office and able to learn new software rapidly.
Ability to walk, stand or sit for prolonged periods and meet the physical requirements of the job.
