Shipment Coordinator (Scheduler)


Job Details

We are looking for a temporary employee for a Shipment Management Coordinator (Scheduler) in the Transportation department at our clients facility. This position may convert from temp to permanent after a few months if the candidate is a good fit.

Hours: 9 a.m. - 6 p.m. Monday through Friday

Payrate: $25/hr.

The ideal candidate should have a transportation, supply chain, or logistics background. This role is responsible for ensuring Transportation and Distribution Performance measures are met. Key duties are scheduling and managing carrier on time performance to pick-up. Actively support initiatives to positively impact carrier performance.

Detailed Responsibilities:

Daily duties of scheduling of inbound/outbound shipments to ensure most economical utilization of carriers and modes of transport based on service parameters

Interface with client and carrier operations to resolve any problems associated with dock scheduling, equipment scheduling and dispatching.

Support in the regional carrier management program; monitor carrier service and cost performance; implement and manage corrective actions plans.

Directly interface with internal and external customers

Support site Prime Tender Acceptance, On Time to Pick up & Delivery Appointment for respected site. Actively manage the daily cost and modal compliance report to ensure PTA and Cost Compliance

Represent the COMPANY on all site related calls or meetings

Proactively manage carrier performance of Intra Company Shipments and Customer Orders

Actively manage Event Management Dashboard to ensure update carrier compliance.

Provide all support function activity including accuracy and timeliness of data processing, reporting, analysis, and all other customer specific inquiries.

Ability to interact with clients directly in resolving problems and providing recommendations.

Directly interface with internal and external customers

Participate in Monthly Carrier Performance Reviews

Represent oneself professionally on all site related calls or meetings

MS Office (Proficiency in Excel, Access & PowerPoint)

Experience in Microsoft Outlook preferred

Proficient at typing skills- job is heavily email based

Aptitude to gain further competency in Transportation Analysis tools

Required Experience:

Bachelors degree preferred in Business, Logistics, or related field of study or a minimum of 4 years of relevant work experience.

Solid oral and written communication skills.
