Hunton Andrews Kurth LLP, an international law firm, is actively recruiting for a Finance Director. This role directs and provides planning and leadership in many aspects of finance and accounting for the firm, including all financial transactions between the firm and its partners. Provides overall direction for the time & billing, accounting, tax, budget, financial reporting and payroll functions.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:
1. Oversees the maintenance, security and accuracy of the firm's general ledger, payroll, tax, trust, accounts payable and financial reporting records, the underlying systems and resulting statements and reports.
2. Ensures compliance with registration, internal & external reporting and filing requirements related to the jurisdictions in which the firm operates, including requirements for firm subsidiary entities. Maintains associated records. Insures proper accounting treatment for international office transactions to include: exchange gains/losses, protection against currency fluctuations, establishment of internal control and monthly financial reporting.
3. Develops and reviews the firm's accounting policies, processes and procedures, recommending and implementing changes as appropriate. Ensures that financial transaction processing, policies and procedures support the firm's short- term and long-term objectives. Ensures the adequacy of external audit and also of an internal audit program and controls.
4. Manages the cash, billings and collections functions and makes recommendations on debt & bank account positions and additions to capital.
5. Oversees the management of banking, time & billing, general accounting, general ledger, payroll, tax, trust, accounts payable and financial reporting areas to achieve high performance standards, as agreed upon with the Chief Financial Officer.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Bachelor's degree required. Advanced degree desired.
Experience: Minimum of 10 years of management experience required, preferably in a law firm, professional services, or other client relationship-based organization. Knowledge of Microsoft Office required.
Other Minimum Qualifications: Travel may be required. Availability and willingness to work hours as needed to meet critical deadlines. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite applications. Strong commitment to client service excellence and teamwork. Must possess the highest standards of ethical conduct and professionalism. Must act as catalyst for change, drive and own results. Creative and innovative. Excellent communication skills (oral, written and listening) and ability to collaborate effectively with diverse group of professionals. Sound judgment and flexibility. Ability to work well under pressure, patience, diplomacy, high stress tolerance, excellent interpersonal communication skills, ability to prioritize workload and adapt to changing conditions. Visual acuity needed to process and read extensive written communications. Ability to receive and convey detailed information through oral communication. Essential competency processes include language ability, reasoning and memory.
