Our client, a global consulting firm with aggressive expansion plans for the US, is actively recruiting for an exceedingly sharp, knowledgeable and self-directed Business Intelligence specialist, to help launch its US Business Intelligence practice.


The firm has deep BI expertise in Europe and a strong Consulting and Project Management practice in the US. This individual will play a key role in building the BI function with its US clients.

Key Things to Note:


The firm specializes in working with pharmaceutical and other life science companies to leads Operational Excellence initiatives. They are adding a Business Intelligence service line, which is already thriving in Europe. This role will involve working with the Operational Excellence Lead Partner in the US to drive this BI function.


Clients are typically pharmaceutical manufacturing companies that build and run large, complex and highly regulated manufacturing facilities. This BI practice will work to ensure clients have accurate, insightful and timely data to help improve performance, decision-making, and efficiency. This Project Lead will be instrumental in this effort.


The role will involve:


Helping to establish the BI Service Line framework including standards, strategies and tactics. This Project Lead will work with their European counterparts to bring the successful service line to the US.


Acting as Lead BI professional with existing clients including:

  1. identifying which metrics are most valuable to the company
  2. evaluating which data sources can provide answers to key business questions and
  3. delivering data analytics to help the businesses streamline their processes and support company goals and decisions


We seek a versatile and innovative candidate whose deep Business Intelligence expertise is complemented by strong client service skills.


Clients will generally be facilities under construction and/or in production. The work will focus on operations including production, supply chain/order management, quality, documentation and other operating functions. Experience performing Business Intelligence work in a manufacturing facility will be important. Pharma a plus.


This Project Lead will eventually grow the team and supervise junior level analysts. Seek a natural leader.


Critical tools include PowerBI, Alteryx and Tableau. MS Office assumed and required. AI savvy will also be important.


This is a hybrid role, with on-site work expected to understand operations. US headquarters are in the Raleigh area. Client is also open to candidates in the Philly area, presuming an openness to regular travel to NC.



Targeted candidate will bring a related BA/BS degree (Masters preferred) and 4+ years of Business Intelligence experience in manufacturing settings. Pharma (or similar) a plus.


Other priorities include:


  • Deep knowledge and practiced application of PowerBI, Alteryx and Tableau


  • Ability interview clients, observe operations and develop models and an underlying architecture to combine data from various sources to provide a holistic view of operational performance


  • Demonstrated ability to build conceptual, logical and physical data models, data flows, and create data management strategies


  • Collaborative work style including ability to partner with client and internal operations leaders to understand needs and translate those needs into functional, actionable reports


  • Excellent documentation skills including documenting data schemas and flows


  • Track record of achievement and growth
