**Silgan Containers** the largest manufacturer of metal food containers in the U.S., is currently seeking a highly talented Warehouse Operator to join our team! We offer one of the highest starting wages in the area at ***$21.25*** per hour, and a benefits package that is hard to beat.
**Position Summary:** This position will be located at the warehouse in Macungie, PA. The Warehouse Lift Truck Operator is responsible for moving and storing materials (finished or raw) within the warehouse and lot, along with loading and unloading trailers. This position takes direction from the Warehouse Supervisor however, they must be able to be self-directed at times.
**Essential Job Functions**
* Ability to earn and maintain Lift Truck Operators license. Electric and/or propane lift trucks will be used for moving product in warehouse and to load/unload shipments.
* Must operate all equipment making safety and quality a priority.
* Ability to follow verbal and written directions. Must be able to read and understand Shipping Orders, Bills of Lading, Packing Slips, Invoices, etc.
* Maintenance of lift truck and yard truck, including daily OSHA inspections and documentation of such.
* Understand and follow safe charging and refueling of lift trucks.
* Use and follow proper lift truck aisles.
* Assist with cycle counts and inventory.
* Maintain a clean and neat warehouse.
* Will work 9 AM to 5:30 PM Monday through Friday, weekends and holidays as needed.
* All other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
* Minimum of 2 years of lift truck driving experience
* Must be able to prioritize work load
* Excellent interpersonal skills & the ability to work effectively with employees at all levels
* Strong verbal and written communication skills and strong attention to detail
* Good computer and math skills
* Excellent attendance is expected
**Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:**
* Must be able to lift a max of 50 lbs. on occasion
* Sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time
* Environmental heat over 95 F, and cold below 55 F
