Job description
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for preventative maintenance activities, troubleshooting, repairing, and replacing plant equipment and systems to ensure maximum plant performance. This position has a strong emphasis on mechanics, piping, welding, and hydraulics. All maintenance department employees assist in the development and implementation of plant safety programs and policies.
Job Functions:
- Perform expert troubleshooting, installation, routine maintenance, and repair of mechanical manufacturing equipment.
- Have the ability to perform essential job functions outside of normal working hours.
- Responsible for mechanical piping within the plant.
- Demonstrate understanding of welding principles associated with stick, TIG, and MIG.
- Responsible for reading and understanding mechanical and piping prints.
- Demonstrate personal computer skills and use of mechanical programs.
- Perform rotating machine alignment.
- Have a basic understanding of electrical to assist Maintenance Electrical Technician.
- Maintain facilities and grounds in clean, well-kept, and efficient operating manner.
- Possess project management skills. Participate in plant projects when needed.
- Assist process operators when necessary.
- Assist Maintenance Manager with control of parts inventory.
- Responsible for awareness and implementation of all local, state, and federal regulations.
- Complete all tasks assigned by the Maintenance Engineer.
- Maintain confidentiality of all records and company matters.
- Support all company safety, health, environmental, and quality programs and policies.
- Maintain a high level of service and work performance and support and promote a positive and cooperative team environment that fosters creative problem solving and shared learning.
Requirements:
- High school graduate or GED required
- Technical degree or certification in related mechanical field preferred
- 3 or more years of experience in maintenance operations
- Industrial or process maintenance required
- Expertise in mechanical, piping, welding, and hydraulics
- Detail-oriented with strong communication, organizational, time-management, and troubleshooting skills.
This is a direct hire opportunity with a wage of $46.67 per hour and offers a full benefit package along with relocation assistance.
