Seattle Galvanizing Company is currently seeking a highly motivated and talented individual for the Industrial Purchasing position in Arlington, WA. This incumbent will support and fulfill the needs of the purchasing department for multiple locations. A buyer or purchasing agent researches, evaluates and purchases products for companies use in their own operations. They negotiate competitive pricing and work within budgets to secure cost savings. Organizing service contracts for things like facility cleaning or inventory stocking. They also develop accurate ways to monitor agreements to secure future savings or profits.


Responsibilities:


  • Must have strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Assist with day-to-day operations of various purchasing functions and duties.
  • Obtain and compare quotes for orders and monitor cost accuracy.
  • Prepare, review and issues purchase orders to ensure proper part is ordered and pricing is accurate.
  • Searches for competitive pricing and options for supplies for the facilities, including quarterly review of monthly inventory list.
  • Receives incoming orders and shipments against packing slips to confirm accuracy of order received.
  • Communicate with vendors regarding order status and follow up to completion.
  • Communicate all facilities management on shipping dates, anticipated delays, and any additional information needed to avoid production delays.
  • Initiate, track, and complete returns. Ensure company gets reimbursed accurately for returns.
  • Assist maintenance department with research of parts and technical data as needed.
  • Schedule and track repairs and Preventative Maintenance (PM) service on various equipment.
  • Weekly travel to other locations for tracking and ordering supplies.
  • Assisting the Accounting Department in resolving billing discrepancies.
  • Complete monthly credit card reconciliation.
  • Must be flexible to complete other projects and duties as assigned.


Qualifications:


  • Minimum 1-2 years experience in accounting, preferably in the industrial sector.
  • Experience with QuickBooks Software is preferred.
  • Experience with Salesforce is preferred.
  • Related BA/BS preferred or commensurate work experience.
  • High ethical standards and ability to exhibit a high level of confidentiality.
  • Excellent organizational skills and strong computer skills.
  • Resourcefulness and ability to change direction and multitask.
  • Basic knowledge of industrial equipment and ability to identify parts.
  • Exhibit strong writing & verbal skills; confidence when speaking on the phone is crucial.
  • Strong work ethic and positive team player.
  • Experience in the manufacturing industry is preferred.


Work Environment/Physical Demands:


  • Office working environment that involves sitting for long periods of time and walk, climb stairs, bend, stretch, and/or lift up to 40 lbs.
  • Frequently in and around production areas.
  • Attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and work well in a high-pressure environment.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment, discretion, initiative and maintain confidentiality.
  • Excellent computer skills including but not limited to MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, and Outlook) and QuickBooks software.
