We do this by hiring individuals who are never satisfied with the status quo and are proactive in their service to others.Position Overview:Under the direction of the Regional Business Analyst, the Regional Supply Chain Specialist supports the regional purchasing and production teams by identifying, onboarding, and training new trade partners and vendors to meet regional business plan. Additionally, they assist in maintaining/cultivating relationships with current trade partners and vendors.Essential Functions:Onboard vendors and trade PartnersMaintain/cultivate current vendor and trade partner relationshipsNegotiate pricing using historical dataMaintain vendor and trade partner master filesPartner with regional production manager and regional business analyst to identify vendor and trade partner needsManage onboarding process for new vendors and trade partnersInitiate agreements and negotiations with vendors and trade partners to maximize the best combination of price, quality, and serviceExecute all required contract documentsInitially train vendors and trade partners to Berks Homes standardsAssist production and purchasing teams on optimal trade partner allocation and capacityBuild a bench of key trades to maintain proper allocation and capacityAssist regional teams in continued training and monitoring adherence to plans, specifications, and scopes of work for vendors and trade partnersAnalyze regional market to ensure we are receiving optimal pricingSupport the Regional Business Analyst in analyzing and controlling construction costsNotify Regional Business Analyst and home office Director of Purchasing when there are major supply chain issues with specified productsAssist with Scope of Work revisions as required and notify vendor and trade partners of changesExperience/Education/Competencies:High School Diploma or equivalent required, bachelor's degree in supply chain management or business preferred3-7 years of experience in residential construction or a related field. A relevant degree can be substituted for some experience (e.g., degree + 2-3 years of practical work experience)Exceptional problem analysis and problem solving skills requiredOutstanding written and oral communications, tactful and diplomatic conflict resolution abilities requiredDemonstrated ability to successfully negotiate requiredPrior management or supervisory experience recommendedFocus on conducting work in an ethical manner requiredHighly driven and organized with excellent attention to detail requiredAbility to complete assignments/fulfill responsibilities on time with little or no supervision requiredProficiency in Microsoft Office requiredSo now you know about the position.
