Description

The Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission, Prince George's County, Arts & Cultural Heritage Division, Harmony Hall Arts Center, in Fort Washington, MD is seeking Seasonal Theatre Technicians.

The schedule will be days, evenings and weekends.

The salary range will be $20.00 per hour to $22.00 per hour dependent on experience, qualifications, and certifications.

Examples of Important Duties

Qualified theatre technicians to:

* Set-up, operate, strike and store staging, sound and lighting equipment for arts programs and facilities.

* Perform minor repairs to equipment as needed.

* Assist user groups with load in and strike, instruct users in the proper and safe use of theatrical equipment.

* Assist as needed with other projects associated with the facility.

Minimum Qualifications

* Knowledge of some of the equipment, materials, practice and tools used in theatrical lighting, sound rigging, and scenic production

* College degree or technical certification and experience preferred.

Supplemental Information

Working Conditions:

* Common hazards and necessary safety precautions involved with theatre work.

* Strength and dexterity necessary to perform all required tasks including lifting, bending, working in tiring and uncomfortable positions and from catwalks, ladders, scaffolds, and bucket lift.

This position does not provide benefits.
