ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES

Administrative Responsibilities:

  • Greet patients with a smile in a professional and engaging manner upon arrival, check them in and obtain insurance information and any other necessary data.
  • Registers new patients and updates existing patient demographics by collecting detailed patient information including personal and financial information.
  • Verify patient insurance information.
  • Coordinate prior authorizations for medications and procedures.
  • Answer telephones and direct calls to appropriate staff.
  • Return patient phone calls and emails.
  • Notify provider of patients' arrival, being aware of delays, and communicating with patients and staff.
  • Schedule follow up appointments
  • Coordinate referrals with other physicians or services
  • Coordinate prior authorizations for medications and procedures.
  • Discuss treatment costs and payment options with patients.
  • Follow up with prospective patients who did not immediately schedule an appointment.
  • Communicate information about recommended procedures.
  • Discuss treatment costs and payment options with patients.

  • Nurture patient relationship and encourage patient retention.
  • Work with practice team to ensure each patient receives the best care possible.

Clinical Responsibilities:
  • Escort patients from lobby to the exam/treatment rooms.
  • Collect patient medical information, update medical records and input information in EMR.
  • Reconcile medication history.
  • Ensure lasers are ready for daily use and turned off at the end of each day.
  • Prepare and assist with examinations, procedures, and treatments.
  • Perform and record treatment procedures under the direction of the physician.
  • Set up exam rooms for all cosmetic, medical, and surgical procedures.
  • Removing sutures, PDT and unpacking medical and office supplies.
  • Perform other functions as need for operational need and assigned.

  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented
  • Certified Medical Assistant or Registered Medical Assistant required.

Additional Information

This position will require long shifts, weekend (will depend on schedule necessary at facility), closing, and opening shifts. Must work on-site.

Physical Requirements

This role may require from time to time lifting heavy objects on a regular basis, doing repetitive tasks with few breaks, and requiring light cleaning.
