The Washington Post Personalization team is looking for a senior software engineer who is excited to create forward-thinking solutions for the next generation of journalism and advertisement. Our team is at the heart of the Post's machine learning strategies to build intelligent and adaptable personalized experiences and business solutions capable of powering the most high-scale websites in the world.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, debug, and modify software systems using best practices.Writing reusable, testable, and efficient codeConsult with product managers, designers, business owners, and other stakeholders for software design and maintenance.Establish and regularly review coding standards, testing principles, and deployment processes.Analyze operational/system requirements, participate in architecture reviews, and present technical briefings.Work closely with data scientists, machine learning engineers, and other teams to build and scale infrastructure.Document technical work and ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field3 years of software development experience3 years of experience working with Relational and NoSQL databasesPreferred Qualifications3 years of experience with Amazon web services3 years of experience as a Python Developer with a strong portfolio of projects.Experience with popular Python frameworks such as FastAPI, Django, Flask or Pyramid.Experience with front-end development using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.3 years of experience building machine learning productsExcellent verbal/written communication and collaboration skills
