Associate Scientist, Molecular Biology (Antibody Production R&D)

$75,000 - $90,000 base compensation
A well-funded biotech in Rockville is looking to make a key R&D hire for an early-career scientist looking for a high-impact, high-visibility role, offering broad exposure to a number of highly marketable skillsets. This role would offer growth potential and opportunity to build expertise across molecular biology, cell culturing, and recombinant antibody production.
Responsibilities:
- Independently execute recombinant antibody production workflows including vector design, molecular cloning, and protein expression
- Work collaboratively with the broader R&D team including NGS, Bioinformatics, and Biochemistry team-members
- Bring a positive and solutions-oriented mindset to the lab
Requirements:
- B.S. or M.S. and 2-4 years relevant post-graduate experience (either academic or industry)
- Strong background with standard molecular biology techniques including molecular cloning, PCR, DNA extraction, etc.
- Experience independently carrying out recombinant protein production tasks strongly preferred (does not have to be antibodies but this would be a best fit)
- Strong grasp of aseptic technique and experience independently culturing cells with high success
