American Medical Staffing (AMS) puts you first, and we are currently seeking an RN to join our state psychiatric/ corrections medical team in Staunton, VA. This facility is a state psychiatric hospital with a mix of forensic psychiatric and developmentally disabled patients. This facility takes pride in setting its contractors up for success and has a 3-4 week orientation that occurs Monday-Friday 8a-5p. Clinician's must be available for the entirety of orientation.
State Psychiatric / Correctional RN Job Details:- Pay Rate: $2,162 - $2,362 per week
- Schedule: 2 8's and 2 12's for a total of 40-hours weekly, Shift times are: 3p-11:30p & 11a-11:30p. Every other weekend is required and holidays are as needed
- Available Shift: 2nd Shift/ Mids, 4 shifts per week

- Requirements: Qualified applicants MUST have at least 1-2 years of experience, preferably in a state psychiatric, corrections, or similar setting, have a valid RN license and be willing to obtain VA and/or compact licensure.
As a Registered Nurse in a state psychiatric / correctional care setting, youll play a crucial role in providing comprehensive healthcare services to incarcerated individuals, promoting their well-being and rehabilitation. This position works in partnership with a team of correctional staff and allows you to make a meaningful difference in the lives of patients. Responsibilities include:Assessing patient health status, developing care plans, and implementing nursing interventions as neededAdministering medications and treatments according to physician orders and established protocolsMonitoring patient vital signs, symptoms, and responses to treatment, adjusting care plans as necessaryCollaborating with healthcare team members, correctional staff, and community resources to ensure continuity of careDocumenting patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately and timelyState Psychiatric / Correctional care positions can often offer healthcare professionals more independence in how they practice and the ability to grow professionally.
