POSITION SUMMARY:

The expanded functions unique to the RN first assistant during the surgical intervention are to assume responsibility in advanced surgical assisting skills such as providing exposure, tissue handling, suturing, providing hemostasis, and using surgical instruments on procedures for which privileges have been granted. The RNFA functions interdependently with the surgeon and applies knowledge, skill and judgment necessary to assist the surgeon in performing a safe operation that yields optimal results for the patient.

REQUIREMENTS:

Graduate of a Nursing Program, BSN preferred. Completion of an RNFA course and internship. Current California Nursing license. Current BLS, ACLS & NIHSS/Stroke Scale certifications. CNOR certification. RNFA certification is highly preferred. 3 5 years in the operating room. Hand and power tools. Good communication skills. Able to work effectively in stressful situations.

PAY / BENEFITS
Estimated pay: $58.00 to $60.00 per hour based on qualifications (including but not limited to experience, education, certifications, and licensure where applicable).
