Long Valley Animal Hospital is open Monday - Thursday from 8:30am - 7:00pm, and Friday from 8:30am - 5:30pm. We are closed on weekends!

Hiring for a HYBRID Role of Client Service Representative AND Veterinary Technician. Interested candidates must have experience in these roles. Responsibilities for each position are listed below. The new hire's time is to be split and scheduled between both departments for full-time hours.

Client Service Representative

WHAT YOU'LL DO

* Answer telephone calls quickly, efficiently, and in a professional and friendly manner using a multi-line system

* Warmly greet clients

* Prepare patient files

* Receive and relay client correspondence and update client financial records

* Answer client's inquiries about basic animal care questions and routine procedures

* Educate clients on over-the-counter products such as flea and tick preventions

* Admit patients and handle medical records entries accurately

* Prepares client invoices for services performed

* Handle payment transactions

* Receive and relay telephone, fax, and email messages accurately and promptly

REQUIREMENTS

* High school diploma or equivalent

* Previous experience working as a Veterinary Receptionist/CSR is preferred but not required (a plus if proficient in Cornerstone software)

* Significant experience with basic office functions in a busy office environment

* Must be a team player and have compassion for pets and their people

Veterinary Technician

WHAT YOU'LL DO

* Provide compassionate care to pet patients and their loved ones

* Keep accurate medical records in accordance with hospital policy

* Prepare and maintain the exam rooms and treatment areas

* Perform physical assessments and record your observations

* Keep furry friends calm and still during procedures (sometimes using chin scratches!)

* Prepare estimates for procedures and discusses financial commitments with clients

* Explain necessary follow-up and home care instructions

* Stock clinic treatment area and exam rooms, and inform inventory manager when supplies need to be ordered

* Assist the Veterinarian in medical, surgical, and dental procedures (be comfortable with blood draws; prepare patients for surgery; administer anesthesia; monitor patients during surgery and recovery; administer fluids)

* Care for all surgical materials and keep the operating room properly stocked and prepared for surgery

* Educating clients on preventive care and having a strong knowledge of the products we stock

* Customer service in all forms - interacting face to face, occasionally answering phone calls, scheduling appointments, following up with clients post-visit, and educating clients and empowering them to provide the best care to their pets (Experience with Cornerstone a plus)

REQUIREMENTS

* High school diploma or equivalent

* Veterinary Technician Certification (CVT) or License (LVT) preferred but not required

* Must have a positive attitude and be a team player

* Diagnostics (Radiographs, ECG, Blood Pressure, Venipuncture)

* Placing IV Catheters

* Administering treatments

* Assisting and monitoring patients during surgery

* Excellent communication skills, positive, and empathetic

* Previous Cornerstone software experience is a plus
