Most importantly, we are growing for a better tomorrow, today. About the role Plenty is looking for a Manager, Maintenance and Facilities to join our Farm Operations leadership team. Your skills and training will be applied to a new and innovative indoor vertical farming environment growing and harvesting strawberries! This is a full-time, onsite role in our Chester, VA location. Our maintenance team troubleshoots, maintains, and continually improves our Industrial Automation equipment in our farm facilities, This role ensures our farms are always operating and performing at their best. In this role, you will own and lead the stability, improvement, maintenance, and performance functions of our automated systems and office facility. You will manage facilities, tool productivity, maintenance and conduct data analysis to improve processes, and manage quality measurement for their tools/process. You will drive continuous improvement to meet the requirements of the manufacturing ramp. What you'll doLead a proactive predictive maintenance program and CMMSDrive PM and Work Order completion rate that deliver in business expectationsCollaborate with Production Operations, Manufacturing Engineering, Process Engineering, Maintenance and other cross-functional teams as the expert to ensure production lines run in a safe, efficient manner producing high quality productManage the day to day operations of the Maintenance TeamLead equipment upgrades with a focus on serviceability, reliability, food safety/sanitation, and process capabilityBecome subject matter expert to execute equipment-related process improvement including detailed troubleshooting and root cause analysisWork with the Operations Training Manager to build training materialDevelop maintenance routines, service bulletins, and documentation related to cradle to grave equipment life cycle managementIdentify equipment critical spare parts and ensure sufficient coverage to prevent extended downtime situationsProvide hands-on support and guidance to the Maintenance Team to troubleshoot and resolve extended downtime situationsMaintain Preventative Maintenance logs to support food safety certificationOthers duties as assigned - we're a growing scale-up so you never know what you might get the opportunity to work on as we growWhat you'll bring to the tableEducation or experience equivalent to B.S. in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Computer Engineering or equivalent time in Maintenance Leadership roles7+ years of progressive experience working on a maintenance team supporting automated production linesExperience leading technicians or other technical resourcesDemonstrated track record of creating processes from scratch and improving existing processes within a Maintenance department Excellent communication skills, both verbal and writtenAbility to meet tight timelines and solve issues in collaboration with othersExperience with PLC navigationWilling to work days, afternoons, nights and weekends as determined by project needsAbility to push, pull and lift up to 40 poundsAbility to stand for long periods of timeAbility to work in produce freezer environments - as low as 32 degreesAbility to work at heights up to 40 feetBilingual in Spanish and English a plusType of role Full-Time / Onsite What we can offer Compensation: we'll pay you a competitive salary on a biweekly basis, give you a stake in the company via equity and contribute toward your 401K Health & well-being: we'll invest in your physical and mental well-being with comprehensive medical, dental, & vision benefits, along with support for your mental health through Spring Health and financial wellness through LearnLux.
