Rehabilitation Technician (previously referred to as Direct Care Worker)

The Rehabilitation Tech. performs routine patient care duties under direct supervision.

Key responsibilities include:

• Being able to work 12 hour shifts in each of our 6 AFC/group homes (5 homes are located in Troy and one is in Farmington Hills); Driver's License Required
• Being available to work every other weekend
• Being available to attend our week long, paid mandatory training beginning April 3rd.
• Representing the facility in a manner that conveys a professional, courteous, caring, and cooperative attitude.
• Direct Care work in Licensed Adult Foster Care Homes that specialize in Traumatic Brain Injury and Spinal Cord Injury Rehabilitation.
• Experience in PEG Tub feedings, Hoyer transfer, bowel program, personal hygiene, pressure relief preferred, but we can train.
• Assisting clients with activities of daily living and encouraging independent behavior with appropriate interventions on a daily basis.
• Providing care to clients in a manner that considers safety, clients' rights, comfort, and a therapeutic environment.
• Identifying verbal and non-verbal cues for potential aggressive behaviors and uses the necessary intervention to de-escalate the client appropriately

Schedule:

• 12 hour shifts (you can choose AM, PM, or both)
• 3 Holidays per year (you sign up for them)
• Every other weekend
