Under the direction of the Regional Manager and VP of Retail Operations, plan, direct, and coordinate the operations of the respective branch. Manage staff for optimum performance.
Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities
- Maintain operational hours - branch opens and closes on time with sufficient resources to support demand
- Determine staffing requirements and schedule staff according to operational and budget parameters
- Hire and train new staff in coordination with Branch Operations Manager (BOM)
- Supervise direct reporting staff according to overall company policy.
- Develop staff to maximize potential while cultivating a positive work environment
- Monitor staff performance including performance reviews (conducted annually at a minimum)
- Monitor and assist staff with work progress especially as it relates to business processes like quotes, orders, receiving, and inventory control activities.
- Utilize current business processes, procedures, and systems.
- Keep all technology and business systems functional and fully utilize IT Support as needed
- Plan and implement procedures and systems to maximize operating efficiency.
- Attend monthly managers meetings.
- Meet monthly and as needed with BOM to review the Managers Checklist.
- Participate in the management of Capital Expenditures (CAPEX) in coordination with BOM
- Review performance data (financial, sales, and activity reports) to monitor and measure productivity, goal progress, and activity levels. Fully utilize dashboards and smart views
- Responsible for the achievement of department/division/unit productivity and quality goals
- Fully support and deploy initiatives and goals as set forth by BOM, marketing, and management
- Communicate any needs or significant problems to BOM.
- Comply with all safety directives and maintain a safe working environment in all regards
- Be on call for emergency issues.
- Facilitate the positive resolution of any customer complaints or concerns. Involve the BOM in anything beyond a simple issue. Work to de-escalate any situation treating customers and staff with calm respect and empathy
This role will work in conjunction with the Assistant Store Manager, Store Personnel and Yard Personnel
