American Medical Staffing (AMS) puts you first, and we are currently seeking an LPN to join our corrections medical team in Rustburg, Virginia. This is a minimum security male state prison with a maximum capacity of 153 inmates.
Correctional LPN Job Details:
Pay Rate: $1,024 to $1,224 per week
Schedule: 7p - 7:30a
Available Shift: Nights, 3 shifts per week
Start Date: Two weeks of offer
Located In: Rustburg, Virginia
Requirements: Qualified applicants MUST have at least 1-2 years of experience, preferably in a corrections or similar setting, have a valid LPN license and be willing to obtain VA and/or compact licensure.
As a Licensed Practical Nurse in a correctional care setting, you ll play a crucial role in providing comprehensive healthcare services to incarcerated individuals, promoting their well-being and rehabilitation. This position works in partnership with a team of correctional staff and allows you to make a meaningful difference in the lives of patients. Responsibilities include:
Provide basic nursing care to patients under the supervision on RNs or physicians.
Monitoring patients vitals and symptoms administering medication and treatments according to physician orders and established protocols
Administer medications and injections as prescribed by a physician and monitor for adverse reactions to medications
Responding to medical emergencies and providing immediate interventions as needed
Documenting all patient interactions, treatments, and observations accurately and timely
Educating patients on self-care techniques and promoting health education within the correctional facility
