Are you an organized and strategic thinker passionate about procurement and supplier management? Our Milwaukee WI WI-based client is looking for a Procurement Specialist in a full-time/Direct Hire position, where you will play a crucial role in ensuring the seamless flow of materials and supplies to support operations.


Role Overview: As a Procurement Specialist, you will be responsible for consolidating departmental needs, identifying suitable suppliers, and negotiating key aspects such as pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules. Your role will be pivotal in maintaining appropriate raw material levels and ensuring cost-effective purchasing to support production requirements.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Purchasing Management: Review, approve, and process purchasing requests daily. Issue purchase orders and coordinate with suppliers for timely deliveries.
  • Supplier Relations: Research and identify reliable supply sources and vendors. Negotiate terms and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to resolve procurement issues efficiently.
  • Inventory Control: Monitor and maintain raw material levels, considering lead times and volume-based price breaks. Perform regular cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Cross-Department Coordination: Serve as the primary liaison between suppliers and internal departments, including resolving order status inquiries and procurement-related issues.
  • Invoice Reconciliation: Validate and reconcile vendor invoices to address pricing discrepancies and ensure accurate payments.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain organized files, reports, price lists, and other records in line with company policies and procedures.


Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in procurement or purchasing, with a strong understanding of supply chain management.
  • Excellent negotiation skills and the ability to establish and maintain effective supplier relationships.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in inventory management and procurement software.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with internal teams and external vendors.
