Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Control Room Operator (CRO) to join our team at the Chalk Point Generating Station for the summer run. The CRO will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient and safe operation of our power generation facilities.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor and control the operation of simple cycle combustion turbines (CT).
- Operate and manage two CE gas-fired boilers equipped with GE tandem compound turbines.
- Ensure compliance with all safety and environmental regulations.
- Respond to operational issues and emergencies in a timely and effective manner.
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance of equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Record and report operational data accurately and comprehensively.
- Collaborate with maintenance and engineering teams to address equipment issues.
- Participate in shift rotations to ensure continuous operation of the control room.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Control Room Operator in a power generation setting.
- In-depth knowledge of simple cycle CT operations and gas-fired boiler systems.
- Familiarity with GE tandem compound turbines.
- Strong understanding of safety protocols and environmental regulations.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to respond to emergencies.
- Ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
