Job Summary
Responsible for the identification of clinical quality issues, recommends actions for improvement, facilitates improvement teams, disseminates education in direct relation to the QI process, and is integral in the maintenance of health plan regulatory and contractual compliance related to quality. Assists in the daily implementation and maintenance of El Paso Health's QI Program. Completes concurrent and retrospective reviews of clinical quality management issues within the health plan. Works closely with Director of Quality Improvement, Medical Director, Network Providers and other Health Plan Associates.
Skills
Work Experience
Three years experience working in a managed care organization conducting quality improvement activities or medical record reviews. Strong working knowledge of the Texas Health and Human Services Commission Performance Improvement/Quality Improvement requirements. Must be familiar with NCQA and/or URAC accreditation, and how NCQA and/or URAC accreditation requirements are implemented in a health care system required. Understands and utilizes the fundamentals of continuous quality improvement.
License/Registration/Certification
Current, active, unrestricted licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Texas.
Education and Training
Bachelor degree in Nursing required.
